Course Aim
The aim of the course is to give participants the basic skills and knowledge to operate an MEWP safely and effectively and achieve the required standard for successfully completing the theory and practical evaluations associated with the course.
Objectives
On completion of this course, participants will:
- Be able to Operate a MEWP safely, reducing the risk of injury to operators and pedestrians
- Be able to use safe operating techniques
- Be familiar with MEWP operating controls
- Be able to refuel/recharge MEWPS safely
- Understand the hazards associated with the use of MEWP’s
- Be able to correctly position MEWPS in relation to task requirements
Course Programme
- Introduction to course
- Overview of current legislation
- Safe operating practices including establishing the SWL for MEWP’s
- Elementary controls and operation
- Daily Inspection and refuelling
- Introduction to MEWP - Explanation, demonstration and guided practice in the correct procedures to adopt when operating a MEWP
- Examination (written and practical)
Who should attend?
This half -day course is designed for experienced operators who do not hold a certificate but do have experience operating the MEWP.
Methodology
Presentation on multimedia, supplemented by discussions and case studies and practical exercises
Assessment
Participants are required to complete a written assessment on completion of the course
Certification
Participants will receive certification of attendance on completion of the course

3 hours for 1 Lift & 6 hours for 2 Lifts
